About LEHER
Education is a core pillar of MJAF’s mission. Through LEHER, the Foundation adopts a holistic early learning approach that strengthens education systems by focusing on how children naturally learn, explore, and develop. Centered on play-based and experiential learning, the program supports both teachers and classrooms in creating engaging, child-centric environments that foster curiosity, creativity, and strong foundational skills.
On Baba Bhit Island, home to a population of over 55,000 people, access to quality early childhood education remains limited. Among the approximately 800 students enrolled at the DMC School, MJAF, through LEHER, currently supports 200 children under its Early Learning Initiative. What began as a pilot program with just 30 children has grown into a thriving model for early childhood development, demonstrating the impact of sustained investment in young learners and their learning environments.
